The leaderships of the Bulgarian National Audit Office (BNAO) and Romania's Court of Accounts signed a cooperation agreement during an online meeting on Friday, the BNAO said in a press release. The document was signed by BNAO acting head Goritsa Grancharova-Kozhareva and Court of Accounts President Mihai Busuioc.
Also attending the online meeting were BNAO deputy head Toshko Todorov and members Emil Evlogiev and Prof Georgi Ivanov, as well as experts from the two audit institutions.
The Court of Accounts has agreed to support BNAO in the gradual introduction of IT audit in the work of the National Audit Office through a combination of activities. Expert support will be provided for the creation of an IT audit manual, training of personnel, and consultations during a pilot IT audit by BNAO.
The two audit institutions will interact through exchange of information and materials, online consultations between experts, bilateral visits by experts, and other activities.
Busuioc said that the Court of Accounts and BNAO will work very well together. The cooperation agreement will give broader opportunities for development of their common activity. "We will share our practice in IT audits," he said.
