One of Bulgaria's best karatekas, Alexandra Stubleva, Friday said she is ending her sports career. She made the announcement on social media during a Karate1 Series A tournament in Tbilisi, where she lost 1-2 against Iran's Sanaz Amiri in the kumite 68 kg category.

Stubleva is Bulgaria's first athlete to win a European karate championship medal. In 2021, she snagged the silver in the Senior Championships in Porec, Croatia. She also won the bronze at the European U21 Championships in Limassol, Cyprus, in 2016. Stubleva has mutliple medals from the rating tournaments from the A Series of Karate 1 Premium League.
