The Government adopted the National Employment Action Plan 2024, the Cabinet's press centre said here on Wednesday. It provides for 9,926 unemployed people to be put to work through programmes, projects and measures, and over 9,000 people to be involved in training to become more competitive in the labour market.

The financing of the planned activities will be within the approved funds from the State Budget for active labour market policy - BGN 88 million, which is BGN 15 million more compared to 2023.

As a result of the implementation of the actions, programmes, projects and measures set out in the Plan for 2024, the unemployment rate is expected to fall to 4% and employment in the age group 20-64 to reach 77%.

The wages of the unemployed included in subsidized full-time employment will be aligned with the minimum wage and will be increased from BGN 780 to BGN 933. The salaries of young people involved in the Career Start Programme will also be increased (from BGN 920 to BGN 1,100), salaries of youth and Roma mediators will rise from BGN 950 to BGN 1 140), those of psychologists and case managers working under the National Programme Activating Inactive Persons National Programme will be increased from BGN 1,070 to BGN 1,280.
