Burgas Airport expects a single-digit increase in the number of passengers served this year, said Ivo Barzov, expert from the Aviation Marketing department at the airport, during a meeting with the tourist industry in Pomorie.  Barzov said that an increase of more than 10% in the number of passengers served is expected from the markets of Poland and Great Britain. At the end of this month, regular flights Burgas - Frankfurt, Germany will begin for the first time, he added.

"This will give Burgas the opportunity to connect with a key airport from where flights to the whole world are carried out. From June 2, Sofia - Burgas flights by the national airline Bulgaria Air will resume, and this year this will happen three weeks earlier than in 2023. From June 17, this line will run five times a week," said Barzov. He added that the first charter flights at Burgas Airport for this year are expected in the first half of May.

The aviation expert pointed out that this summer there will be direct flights from Burgas to Spain, Kosovo, Uzbekistan and Armenia. Barzov recalled that the national airline of Lithuania will add a new route to the seaside airport, this time from the capital of Estonia, Tallinn, after flights to Riga were launched last year.
Flights to Berlin will start operating at the end of June, Barzov added.
