site.btaSocial Minister Ivanov Takes Part in Conference on Future of European Pillar of Social Rights, European Social Policy

Caretaker Labour and Social Policy Minister Ivaylo Ivanov took part in a conference on the future of the Europe social policy and the European Pillar of Social Rights. The event was organized by the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU and took place in La Hulpe, Spain, the Social Ministry said on Wednesday.

The participants in the forum discussed EU challenges and policies on topics such as equal access to the labour market for women and men, access to social protection in a changing labour market, fair working conditions in relation to artificial intelligence, labour market policies and skills for a just transition, as well as early childhood education.

An inter-institutional declaration on the future of the European Pillar of Social Rights was signed, supported by Bulgaria, the Ministry further said. The document sets the social agenda for the next legislative cycle within the broader framework of the EU Strategic Agenda 2024-2029 and reaffirms the Pillar as the compass of EU social policy, the Ministry added. The declaration was signed in the presence of Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Parliament President Roberta Metsola.
