site.btaPM Denkov Attends "Banker of the Year" Ceremony
It is extremely important that we all work for a banking system which is stable and well capitalised, that we create opportunities for investment, and that the economy develops well, said Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov at the official ceremony of the "Banker of the Year" awards of Banker newspaper (banker.bg) at the Astoria Grand Hotel in Sofia. The awards were presented on Monday evening for the 30th time.
"I pay my respects to the entire banking sector and want to congratulate them for the successes achieved in recent times," the Prime Minister said. "I pay my personal respects to Banker newspaper - they have been giving me some of the most intelligent interviews, and so I want to thank them for what they have been doing and congratulate them on these 30 years," he added.
Addressing the award winners, Prime Minister Denkov said that as someone who comes from science, he knows how lonely and sad it is to do something that is difficult, to succeed and have no one notice. “I'm always happy when there are ceremonies like this, when there are people who have made the effort, and now get recognition," he said.
