site.btaAirline Launches Seasonal Flights between Sofia and Antalya

Starting Tuesday, SunExpress will operate seasonal flights between Sofia and Antalya, Sofia Airport said in a press release. The flights will be twice a week - every Tuesday and Friday. Until now, the airline operated only charter flights between Sofia and Antalya.

The aircraft, which performed the first flight on the line, was welcomed at Sofia Airport with an official ceremony and a traditional water salute. The event was attended by Jesús Caballero - CEO of SOF Connect, operator of Sofia Airport, Georgi Kabaivanov - Manager of Tal Aviation for Bulgaria, as well as by tour operators and media representatives.

Caballero welcomed the decision of SunExpress to launch seasonal flights between Sofia and Antalya. "Thus, Bulgarians will have the opportunity to enjoy the unique experience of the Turkish Riviera during the winter season, as well", he added.

Established as a merger between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines in 1989, SunExpress specializes in offering multiple direct connections between various European cities and Turkey. 

Tickets are now on sale and bookings can be made throughout the SunExpress distribution network or through the Sofia Airport Travel Agency.

In mid-July, the first Boeing 747 Freighter registered in Bulgaria was welcomed at Sofia Airport again with a water salute. One of the largest cargo aircraft in the world will operate under the brand Compass Air Cargo.
