The extension of line 3 of the Sofia metro and new metro trains, deepening of the Port of Burgas and modernization of the infrastructure of the Varna Ferry Complex are among the projects that will be funded under the Operational Programme on Transport and Transport Infrastructure 2014-2020 until the end of 2023, when the eligibility period for expenditure under the Programme expires, the Council of Ministers press service reported on Wednesday.

The cabinet approved changes to the programme that allow funds to be reallocated from already approved projects that will not be fully implemented by the end of this year. The outstanding works will be financed from the Program on Transport Connectivity 2021-2027 to ensure the full completion of the projects.
