During Question Time in Parliament on Tuesday, Energy Minister Rumen Radev said that the supplies of nuclear fuel for Bulgaria's Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) have not been terminated. The contract with Rosatom expires in 2025, and the NPP's Units 5 and 6 have been provided with fresh fuel, he specified in reply to a question by Socialist MP Dragomir Stoynev about the nuclear fuel supplies.

To license non-Russian nuclear fuel, a contract has been signed with Westinghouse Electric for Unit 5, and that fuel will start being used in April 2024 provided a permit has been issued by the Nuclear Regulatory Agency, Radev explained.
