site.btaPhoto Exhibition Marking Start of Spanish EU Presidency Opens at Sofia Airport

The photography exhibition entitled “Spain, Closer" opened Monday at Sofia Airport Terminal 2 as a part of the events marking the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU). The exposition is organized by the Spanish Embassy in Spain.

The exhibition will remain at the airport throughout the summer, said Spanish Ambassador to Bulgaria Alejandro Polanco Matta. Tourism is one of the most important industries for both countries, he noted and added that the link between Spain and Bulgaria is very important for both tourism and the economy. He pointed out as a priority the transformation of Sofia into a hub of connections in the region, as well as the expansion of the links between Bulgaria and Spain. “We want to increase the number of Bulgarian tourists coming to Spain,” the diplomat further stated.

The photos in this exhibition are a reference to the motto of the Presidency "Europe, closer", Tourism Minister Zaritsa Dinkova explained.

“I would like to note with satisfaction that there is very good air transport connectivity between the two countries,” noted Deputy Transport Minister Anna Mihneva-Natova.
