Registrations of new agricultural tractors in Bulgaria continue to go down after the decline in the first quarter of 2023, according to Q2 data from the technical inspection authority with the Agriculture Ministry. A decrease is seen for combine harvesters compared to the same period last year. A positive trend is reported for loaders, continuing the upward trend from the beginning of 2021, albeit with some fluctuations.

New wheeled tractors registered since the beginning of the year total 663, which is 120 fewer compared to the same period last year, or -18.1%. Interestingly, in the first half of 2022, tractors saw an increase of 40.57% compared to 2021.

For grain harvesters, the difference with January-June 2022 is only 7 vehicles or 119 newly registered machines since the beginning of this year (+5.88%). For the same period last year, grain harvesters posted a 59.49% increase, and the current decline is the first in two years.

Telehandlers also maintained the positive trend in the second quarter of 2023 with 184 new machines registered, or up 4.55% from the 176 in 2022.

Front-end loaders, which after performing well in the most difficult periods for the market during the COVID pandemic started to show a decline at the beginning of last year, are now back in positive territory with 124 new registrations since the beginning of the year, or 30.53% more than the same period in 2022.
