The Bulgarian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) opened a Bulgarian national pavilion in China late on Sunday, the chamber told BTA.
The ceremony was attended by Ivaylo Yordanov, Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in China, BCCCI Vice President Dr. Ivoslav Petrov Ganchev who is a professor at Beijing Foreign Studies University , as well as representatives from the Anhui Lake Rising Bright Moon Project and the Organizing Committee of the National Pavilion for Cross-Border E-commerce.
The BCCCI plans this pavilion to be an active venue for sales - not just an exhibition hall. It will help Bulgarian companies interested in exporting to China.
BCCCI Chair Lachezar Dinev said in a recent interview that a very limited amount of Bulgarian products are currently available on the Chinese market. He said that Bulgarian wine exports have dropped 12 times since 2018. Eleven of the top 12 Bulgarian export commodities in China are raw materials.
