At a briefing in the National Assembly on Friday, the Vazrazhdane party said that it was nominating Dr. Lyubomir Hristov as governor of the Bulgarian National Bank. Party ledaer Kostadin Kostadinov explained that this is not a political candidacy, but expert one. "If I receive the support of the people's representatives, I plan to work strictly within the framework, the powers, the obligations according to the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) Act, so that during my mandate the bank remains Bulgarian and national," said Hristov.
