The Ivan Vazov National Theatre will present Diana Dobreva’s production of Moby-Dick at the 12th edition of Madách International Theatre Meeting (MITEM) at the National Theatre of Hungary in 2025, the Ivan Vazov National Theatre said here on Thursday.
MITEM is a major theatre event in Central and Eastern Europe, uniting top theatre companies and directors globally. The festival runs from April 25 to May 25 and features acclaimed directors and actors like Rimas Tuminas, Silviu Purcarete and Theodoros Terzopoulos.
"The interpretation of Moby-Dick inspired by Herman Melville's novel explores the depths of the human condition, addressing philosophical questions like the fear of time, the desire for eternity, and the quest for the absolute. The production captivates with its large-scale visuals, the engaging dramaturgy of Alexander Sekulov, and acting that draws audiences into this epic maritime story," the National Theatre said.
