Bulgarian translator Lyubomir Iliev gave a workshop on the Faust tragic play by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, presenting it in front of colleagues of his from 12 countries. Since the beginning of 2024, Iliev has been in the German city of Weimar at the invitation of the Goethe Society, a literary and scientific organization for the study of the literary work of the German poet and writer. Iliev’s mission is to help other translators recreate Faust in their native languages, the List publishing house said.

So far, translators from Brazil, India, France, Gabon, Poland, Greece, Croatia and Uzbekistan have benefited from Iliev's guidance. The Bulgarian is yet to meet with translators from Norway, Romania, Portugal and Georgia.

Iliev's translation of Faust is out in a new edition. The book includes illustrations drawn by Eugene Delacroix in 1828, and is dedicated to the 275th anniversary of Goethe's birth.
