During her working visit to Bulgaria, Montenegrin Transport Minister Maja Vukicevic conferred with Bulgarian Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh and Plovdiv Mayor Kostadin Dimitrov to discuss prospects for developing tourism exchange between the two countries, the Bulgarian Tourism Ministry said on Monday.
At the meeting held in Plovdiv, the participants emphasized opportunities for increasing tourist flows and the importance of cooperation between Bulgaria and Montenegro for the economic and cultural development of the region.
Borshosh said that Plovdiv is a priority destination in the Tourism Ministry's campaign to attract more foreign tourists to Bulgaria. Vukicevic highlighted that the cultural and historical heritage of the ancient city is an exceptional treasure not only for Bulgaria but also for the entire region.
During their visit to the city, the two delegations also discussed opportunities for developing pilgrimage tourism with Plovdiv Metropolitan Nikolay.
