The theme of today's conference is knowledge, and knowledge is power, said Brigadier General Ivan Malamov, Rector of the Vasil Levski National Military University, at the local conference which is part of the Europe on Balkans: Cohesion Skills project. It took place at BTA's National Press Club in Veliko Tarnovo on Monday.
Malamov said Veliko Tarnovo is the genetic code for Bulgaria's spirituality. The educational institution takes advantage of all the opportunities provided by the EU. He noted that the National Military University works on over 10 European projects, including a project on a Competence Centre which will help with disaster and emergency management.
The Rector presented the National Military University as the proud successor to the first state institution in Bulgaria, the military school. In his words, the military school as the first educational institution is a symbol of the struggle of the Bulgarian people for spiritual and cultural independence, as well as of the armed struggle for Bulgaria's Liberation.
