site.btaSquare 500 Gallery to Mark International Women’s Day with Workshop Dedicated to Artist Magda Abazova

Square 500 Gallery in downtown Sofia will mark International Women's Day with a workshop dedicated to artist Magda Abazova (1923-2011). The event will also celebrate the 100th anniversary of Abazova’s birth, the National Gallery said on Friday.

"Bold, experimenting, looking for new stylistic directions and motifs, Magda Abazova is defined as the favourite artist of the young. Her painterly handwriting is strong but also poetic, romantic and delicate", the organizers of the event said. 

The participants will be introduced to interiors, portraits, still life, landscapes, figurative scenes and abstract compositions.

The event is suitable for children aged 6 to 12. The workshop includes creative part in which children, in tune with Magda Abazova's art and poems, will create their own interpretations of her paintings using the collage technique, the organizers further said.
