The Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association (BICA) will present the Business to the Rules Awards for 2024 at an official ceremony in Sofia on Thursday, the Association announced. Among the guests at the event, which will start at 6 p.m., will be representatives of the executive and legislative branches, business representatives, NGOs, social partners, media.
The 2024 prize is awarded in three categories: for a legal act or administrative practice that leads to the reduction of the grey economy and improvement of the business environment, for a person or organization that has contributed to the reduction and prevention of the grey economy, for a journalist or media that has contributed to changing public attitudes towards the grey economy.
This year's 12th edition of the competition aims to highlight examples of success in the fight against the informal economy and to distinguish leading institutions and individuals with an active contribution to curbing the informal economy.
BICA's inalienable priority is the fight to lighten the economy and curb the informal sector, said at the end of March 2024 Vasil Velev, then Chairman of the Association's Board of Directors, during the award ceremony. On March 21, former energy minister (2023-2024) Rumen Radev was elected as the new Chair of BICA, while Velev was unanimously elected Chair of BICA's General Assembly.
