President Rumen Radev extends greetings to representatives of the Muslim faith in Bulgaria on the occasion of the major Ramazan Bayram feast, the President's press secretariat said here on Sunday.

In his address, Radev emphasizes that Ramazan Bayram is a tradition symbolizing every believer’s need for forgiveness, generosity, and empathy. “Our far-sighted ancestors have bequeathed us the priceless lesson of building bridges of understanding and compassion, irrespective of religion, ethnicity, or convictions,” Radev said.

In turbulent times for the world, when humanity cracks under the pressure of weapons and brazen force, dialogue and empathy become especially significant, the President noted. “That is why I believe our shared prayer for Bulgaria will be heard and will bring health, peace, and prosperity to everyone,” Radev concluded.

Earlier in the day, Grand Mufti Mustafa Hadzhi spoke to BTA’s Yuzlem Tefikova and said that Ramazan Bayram follows a month of mutual assistance and sharing. He noted the three-day celebration represents the culmination of this spirit of sharing.
