Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani accepted the credentials of the newly appointed Bulgarian Ambassador to Pristina, Hristo Kraevski, at a ceremony on Thursday, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Pristina said on Friday.
President Osmani congratulated Ambassador Kraevski on his appointment and expressed deep appreciation for Bulgaria's continued support for Kosovo, especially in strengthening the sovereignty, territorial integrity and Euro-Atlantic integration of the country. She highly praised Bulgaria’s lasting commitment to regional and global security.
The President thanked Bulgaria for its unwavering support for Kosovo's integration into the European Union and international organizations, and encouraged "the continuation of Bulgarian advocacy for strengthening Kosovo's position on the international stage."
Ambassador Kraevski emphasized the necessity to upgrade the excellent bilateral cooperation through new initiatives and projects, based on connectivity in all its dimensions. He expressed Bulgaria’s gratitude for Kosovo’s approach to its communities in compliance with European and democratic standards. In that connection, he expressed gratitude for President Osmani’s personal commitment for the recognition of the statute of the Bulgarian community in Kosovo and possibilities given to them to fully exercise their rights.
"President Osmani expressed appreciation for Bulgaria's commitment to regional and global security, as well as the commitment of her counterpart, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, to continuously support Kosovo in this direction," a statement of the Kosovo presidency reads.
The President and the new ambassador discussed the possibilities for deepening cooperation between Kosovo and Bulgaria in the economy, education, culture, tourism and other sectors.
