Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov greeted the Muslim community to mark the holy Ramazan Bayram, the Council of Ministers wrote on its Facebook page on Sunday.
Zhelyazkov said Bulgaria stands as an example of understanding and respect among all religious communities. He expressed hope that this holiday would serve as a reminder that a society’s strength lies in its unity and its ability to build a future rooted in mutual respect and understanding. He wished everyone health and prosperity.
Zhelyazkov noted that after a month of reflection, humility, and spiritual cleansing, the day is filled with joy, unity, and blessings. He added that this celebration highlights the power of faith, the importance of compassion, and empathy for human suffering.
Earlier in the day, Grand Mufti Mustafa Hadzhi spoke to BTA’s Yuzlem Tefikova and said that Ramazan Bayram follows a month of mutual assistance and sharing. He noted the three-day celebration represents the culmination of this spirit of sharing.
