Continue the Change (CC) Co-leader Kiril Petkov Sunday reiterated his party's position that it will not back a motion of no confidence in the Rosen Zhelyazkov government initiated by Vazrazhdane, MECh and Velichie. CC will have its own motion of no confidence after Bulgaria receives a convergence report needed for its entry in the eurozone, Petkov told the Bulgarian National Radio.

"Until then, we will not align with the pro-Russian parties and jeopardize our chance for the eurozone, especially with just two months left until the report," said Petkov. The document is expected in June and if the assessment is favourable, Bulgaria will adopt the euro on January 1, 2026.

CC sticks to two principles: being a pro-European party, because this is as a matter of national security, and refusing to make a compromise with corruption schemes, Petkov said. He commented that the state budget is a valid reason for a vote of no confidence in the government. Another reason is that the European Public Prosecutor's Office is feeling threatened by the government's partner, MRF-New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski, he added.

Three of the opposition groups in Parliament - Vazrazhdane, MECh and Velichie, moved for a vote of no-confidence against the government over its foreign policy on March 26.
