Interior Minister Daniel Mitov participated in an extraordinary meeting of the Council for Social Partnership in the Ministry of the Interior, the ministry said. The meeting was attended by the leaderships of trade union organizations, deputy ministers, the acting secretary-general of the Ministry of Interior, the administrative secretary, the directors of the ministry's main and administrative directorates.
"Sensible dialogue is extremely important to me. Interior Ministry employees must have confidence and support for their decent work," said Mitov.
The meeting discussed amendments to an ordinance on the amount of the basic monthly remuneration of civil servants under the Ministry of Interior Act and the amount of the starting and maximum salaries, which is effective from 13 July 2017. The draft was prepared in connection with the implementation of provisions adopted on March 5 2024. The ordinance has been published for public consultation on the website of the Interior Ministry.
The Joint Governance discussed in the state budget for 2025 to implement a number of measures to combat the informal economy and agreed not to cut public sector wages, social payments, and not to raise taxes, the press centre of GERB said after Tuesday's meeting of the Council.
