The Sofia Regional Prosecution Office has asked the acting Prosecutor General to move for stripping of immunity MP Lena Borislavova (Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria), the prosecution service said Friday.
Its registry shows that the motion was submitted December 9.
Borislavova's immunity is claimed in connection with a case involving an environment-protection group, Save Koral.
In April, it transpired that Save Koral was being investigated and that tens of witnesses have been questioned. The probe was initiated by a tip-off about false information provided by Lena Borislavova by email to the Registry Agency, concerning the discharge of Continue the Change co-leader Kiril Petkov from the Managing Board of the association. Investigating that matter, the prosecution established more documentary offences, involving the preparation and submission of false documents to the Registry Agency, the prosecution service said.
On December 10, the prosecution service moved for stripping of immunity Kiril Petkov.
On December 12, Lachezar Stavrev, a former aide to Continue the Change Co-Chair Assen Vassilev was charged with money laundering and malfeasance in office.
