Commenting on the 37 measures that the government will consider in an effort to improve road safety across the country, Vice President Iliana Iotova told reporters here on Thursday that the public should be vigilant and demanding. She said that she was hopeful about the measures, particularly about the ones concerning the future legislative work of the National Assembly.

Iotova stated that the Cabinet should take the issue of road safety seriously and should not leave it at a couple of firings. She added: "We need to find out the whole truth as to why these dismissals were made, what these people have been accused of. If the prosecution service has to deal with them, there should be a punishment for the crime."

Commenting on the second vote of no confidence in the government, Iotova said that she yet to find the opportunity to see the motives. "I have always defended all parliamentary practices, including the no-confidence vote, as long as firstly, the discussion is well prepared and secondly, after it, even if the government does not fall, there are follow-up measures and steps as a conclusion of this discussion and as a hope and desire for something to be fixed," the Vice President said.
