site.btaAlbanian President Begaj to Pay Visit to Sofia

The President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, will pay an official visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of the Bulgarian head of State, Rumen Radev, the Bulgarian President's press secretariat said here on Wednesday. 

The visit is in the context of the 110th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Albania, which is celebrated this year. 

The focus of the talks between Radev and Begaj will be on deepening bilateral cooperation, the European Union enlargement process, security and defence partnership, as well as issues on the regional agenda.

On Wednesday, the two heads of state and their wives are scheduled to watch the  Callas and Onasis performance at the National Palace of Culture. 

On Thursday, the Albanian head of State will lay a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier. There will be a face-to-face meeting between the two presidents, followed by plenary talks between the official delegations of Bulgaria and Albania.

This year, Bulgaria and Albania also mark the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, which provides an important additional incentive to deepen political dialogue and intensify sectoral cooperation, the Foreign Ministry's website said.
