site.btaSocialist Party Leader Ninova Meets with Chinese Ambassador, Says EU and China Can Step Up Trade, Economic Ties

Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) leader Korneliya Ninova and National Assembly Deputy Chairman Kristian Vigenin Friday met with Chinese Ambassador to Bulgaria Dong Xiaojun at his request, the BPS' press centre reported. They discussed current foreign policy events and initiatives, with an emphasis on the meetings between the presidents of the US and China in San Francisco.

Ninova said she expects the forthcoming EU-China summit to give new prospects for the development of economic and trade ties.

The sides noted the results from the development of bilateral relations within Ambassador Dong Xiaojun's term in office, particularly the active cooperation between the BSP and the Chinese Communist Party in various formats (fora, youth initiatives, information exchange). The Chinese Ambassador expressed the hope that within the marking of 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Bulgaria and China will make joint efforts to promote the development of the bilateral strategic partnership and its upgrade to a higher level.
