The Vazrazhdane and the Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) parties said they will not support the formation of a government on GERB-UDF's mandate, MPs from the two formations told journalists in Parliament here on Tuesday.
On Monday, President Rumen Radev said he would hand on Wednesday GERB-UDF the first exploratory government-forming mandate, it being the largest political force in the 51st National Assembly.
Vazrazhdane's Petar Petrov said that there will be support from the parliamentary group if the exploratory mandate to form a regular cabinet was handed to them. He pointed out that he was not familiar with the names being discussed as possible future ministers in a government formed on GERB-UDF's mandate. "We will wait until the third mandate, which we expect to be handed to us," Petrov said.
Even if a government is formed on GERB-UDF's mandate, it will be short-lived because of the many contradictions of its participants. "As we have seen before, such assemblages never lead to anything good for an extended period of time," Petrov said.
Hristo Rastashki of MECh said that his parliamentary group would not support a government on GERB-UDF's mandate.
Nadezhda Yordanova from Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria said the formation is not involved in the negotiations.
MPs from all other parties declined to comment.
