So far no suspect has been identified for the murder of Alexey Petrov, Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov said at a briefing at the Council of Ministers on Wednesday.
"Operational search measures are underway. There are numerous established facts and circumstances that should be thoroughly verified," Stoyanov said, noting that a large team of forensic experts is working on the case, which is in close coordination with the supervising prosecutor. "All versions are possible and we are working on them," the Minister added.
Stoyanov stressed that he did not personally know the murder victim.
Businessman Alexey Petrov was shot dead in Sofia's Dragalevtsi suburb at 12:20 pm on Wednesday, August 16. A 48-year-old female companion is reported injured in the shooting and taken to Sofia's Pirogov emergency hospital with a gunshot wound.
Stoyanov motivated the proposal to the President to dismiss from his post the Interior Ministry's Secretary General, Commissioner Petar Todorov.
