The woman who was wounded on Wednesday when businessman Alexey Petrov was shot dead has undergone two surgeries and is in a serious condition but her life is not at risk, Valentin Dimitrov, Director of the Pirogov Accident and Emergency Hospital, told reporters on Thursday morning. The woman is intubated and on a ventilator and is conscious.

She sustained wounds in the forearm and chest area, but the projectiles did not penetrate the chest. No bullet was found in the woman's body, Dimitrov said.

Petrov and the 48-year-old woman were walking in the mountain when he was shot dead by unknown persons. He died on the spot and the woman was rushed to hospital with a gunshot wound.
