The Security Council at the Council of Ministers must convene urgently to propose concrete measures and tasks to limit the risks and counter the current threats to national security, Atanas Atanasov, floor co-leader of Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB), wrote on his Facebook page. According to Atanasov, the August 16 murder of Alexey Petrov has made it clear that "the Russian agents in our country have received instructions to take advantage of the situation and work to provoke political destabilization in the country."

The main task of the special services and the entire security sector is to put under increased operational control the criminal contingent linked to Russian organised crime and prevent further escalation of tensions, the politician points out.

Continue Change said in a statement that changes in the services are imperative and committed to carry them out.
