Prime Minister Meets with Security Services, Interior Ministry Representatives

Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov will meet with representatives of security services and the Interior Ministry at 3 pm on Friday, the Government Information Service reported. The meeting was convened by Denkov over the increase in serious criminal offences in Bulgaria.

The Government Information Service specified for BTA that Friday's meeting is a different format from the Security Council with the Cabinet.

On Thursday, Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria co-floor leader Atanas Atanasov called for a meeting of the Security Council over the need of specific measures and tasks to curb risks and counter current national security threats.  According to Atanasov, the August 16 murder of Alexey Petrov has made it clear that "the Russian agents in our country have received instructions to take advantage of the situation and work to provoke political destabilization in the country."

Continue Change said in a statement that changes in the services are imperative and committed to carry them out.
