Current domestic, regional, European and global events and developments with a focus on "Macedonian problems and obstacles to European integration and the need for a creative solution to overcome the Bulgarian-Macedonian dispute in the spirit of friendship and goodneighbourliness, respecting the fundamental values and principles of the EU" were discussed at a working lunch of North Macedonia's President Gordana Siljanovska with the ambassadors of the EU Member States in Skopje on Thursday.
The working lunch was organized by the Hungarian Ambassador in Skopje, András Klein, and Siljanovska reaffirmed "her deep faith, commitment and determination to implement the reform agenda in line with the Copenhagen criteria, in active partnership with the EU", the press release from the President's office said.
According to the release, Siljanovska pointed out that the bilateralization of the EU integration process "and the precedents are a real danger for the enlargement" of the EU.
"In her view, in an environment of military conflicts, EU enlargement with the countries of the Western Balkans, which naturally belong to Europe - geographically, historically and culturally - and pursue a common foreign and security policy with the EU, is of common interest and strengthens their immunity against threats," the release said.
