The traffic at the Bulgarian border crossing points (BCPs) at 06:00 this morning is intensive for trucks on the way out into Romania and at Greece, the Border Police reported here on Monday.

On the border with Romania, outbound truck traffic is heavy at the border crossings of Kardam, Oryahovo and Nikopol. Traffic has been temporarily re-organized and restricted to one lane on Danube Bridge between Ruse and Giurgiu due to major repairs on the Bulgarian section of the Bridge. In addition to the Danube Bridge crossing at Ruse, drivers can also head to the Silistra border crossing, Kardam, Durankulak, Kainardzha an Krushari. The last two checkpoints are open from 08:00 to 20:00 every day and trucks are allowed through them.

At the border with Greece, outbound truck traffic is heavy at the Kulata border checkpoint. In view of the significantly increased traffic at the Kulata and Makaza checkpoints, the Border Police recommend the use of alternative crossing points at the Bulgarian-Greek border, which are less congested and allow faster crossing. Those travelling to the area of Thessaloniki, Kavala and the Chalkidiki peninsula can pass through the Ilinden checkpoint as an alternative to Kulata. Tourists travelling to resorts in the area of Xanthi, Komotini and the island of Thassos can use the Zlatograd checkpoint as an alternative to Makaza. Travellers headed towards the area of Alexandroupolis are advised to pass through the Kaptain Petko Voyvoda border crossings. Only cars and vans are allowed to pass through the border crossing points of Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad.

At the border with the Republic of Serbia, traffic is normal at all border crossing points.

At the border with the Republic of North Macedonia, traffic is normal at all border crossing points. The EU Entry/Exit System is under construction at the Gyueshevo border crossing. Temporarily, trucks are rerouted through the car lanes. There may be some difficulties in crossing the border crossing.

At the border with the Republic of Turkiye, traffic is normal at all border crossing points.
