site.btaBulgarian Judoka Sofia Mavrova Wins European Hopes Cup in U15, U44 Kg Category

Bulgarian judoka Sofia Mavrova won the European Hopes Cup in the girls under 15, under 44 kg category in the Czech city of Brno. 

The Bulgarian was ranked first in her category after defeating Katerina Cerna at the start and then the champions of Hungary and Ukraine, Flora Koronika and Vladyslava Rieznik, respectively.

This is Mavrova's third title of the season, after those of Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, but at the lower weight category. 

Bulgaria's Ivon Todorova won the bronze in the same category after defeating Ukraine's Mariia Khatko.  

The girls were accompanied by their coaches Stilian Mavrov, who is also Sofia's father, and Stoyan Velev.
