Traffic is heavy at the Kardam border crossing point (BCP) on the border with Romania at the exit for trucks, the Border Police General Directorate said at 6 a.m. on Sunday.
Romanian border authorities do not allow trucks over 7.5 tonnes to pass through the Durankulak (Vama Veche) BCP during the holidays - May 4 from 4 pm to 10 pm, and May 3, 5 and 6 from 6 am to 10 pm.
Traffic is normal at all border crossing points on the border with Greece. Only cars and minibuses can pass through the Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad border crossing points.
Traffic is normal at all BCPs with Serbia, North Macedonia, and Turkiye.
Construction and modernization works are being carried out at the Kalotina checkpoint. It requires temporary narrowing of the lanes and reorganization of the traffic of vehicles passing through. During the holidays, those travelling by car should bear in mind that the temporary organization of traffic before and in the area of the border crossing may extend the crossing time, the Border Police warned.
