The Athens News Agency - Macedonian Press Agency (ANA-MPA) and the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) provide the best information, because information is a miracle and is valuable, Bulgarian Consul General in Thessaloniki Anton Markov said here on Tuesday. He was speaking at the 5th Bulgaria-Greece cross-border conference, held as part of BTA's project "Europe in the Balkans: A Common Future". The conference is held simultaneously in Thessaloniki and Blagoevgrad.
Markov pointed out that diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Greece are currently at a high level. In his words, this is also evidenced by the high number of tourists in the two countries last year: 3,000,000 Bulgarian tourists were in Greece last year, while the number of Greek tourists in Bulgaria was almost the same.
In the framework of the cross-border conference, the Consul General expressed hope that by the end of the year Bulgaria will become full members of Schengen.
Markov also mentioned in his speech the upcoming opening of the road section to the Rudozem-Xanthi border control checkpoint as well as the forthcoming liquefied gas transfer from Alexandroupolis.
