The Parliamentary Committee on Energy adopted a draft decision obliging the Council of Ministers to prepare a report on the implementation of the decisions of the National Assembly related to the future of the Maritsa Iztok Complex, the largest energy complex in South Eastern Europe. The draft decision stipulates that the Council of Ministers should report chronologically on the steps taken in connection with the amendment of the Recovery and Resilience Plan related to the energy sector.
The draft decision requires the Council of Ministers to prepare and submit to the National Assembly a report that clearly and thoroughly takes into account all the actions related to the future of the Maritsa Iztok Complex.
The decision also requires the Minister of Energy to inform the MPs of all the steps he has taken to amend the plan. In addition, the MPs want to be familiar with all correspondence between Bulgaria and the European Commission on this topic.
The deadline set in the draft decision for the preparation and submission of the report by the Council of Ministers is ten working days.
