Caretaker Prime Minister Dimiter Glavchev has appointed five deputy ministers on a proposal by the respective ministers, the government information service said on Thursday. Following are the new appointments:

Yanislav Yanchev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food: Master's degree from the University of Forestry. Over 15 years' experience at the Direct Payments Directorate of State Fund Agriculture and at the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

Rumyana Petkova, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy: Master of Public Administration and of Finance. Her latest job was with the National Social Security Institute. Joined the Social Assistance Agency as a social worker in 2005 and held various management positions. Headed the Regional Social Assistance Directorate in Blagoevgrad (Southwestern Bulgaria) between 2010 and 2017. Social Assistance Agency executive director (2017-2023).

Mihaela Mechkunova-Stamboliiska, Deputy Minister of Justice: Bachelor of Philosophy and Master of Law from the South-West University of Blagoevgrad. Expert at the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (2014-2016). Expert at the Justice Ministry's Council on Legislation Directorate (2016-2023). Head of the Legal Services Department at the Directorate General Civil Aviation Administration (2023-2024)> Head of Political Cabinet at the Justice Ministry (April-August 2024).

Kalin Velyov, Deputy Minister of Culture: Master of Pop and Jazz Percussions from the National Music Academy in Sofia. Advisor to the Minister of Culture (2017-2020). MP and member of the Culture Committee and the Youth and Sports Committee of the 44th National Assembly (June 2020 - March 2021).

Elena Shekerletova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs: Graduated in Law from the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia. Deputy foreign minister between July 2023 and April 2024. Ambassador to Germany (2019-2023). Permanent Secretary of the Foreign Ministry (2017-2019). Ambassador to Austria. Specialized in Constitutional and Public International Law at the Max-Planck-Institut, Heidelberg.
