The Bulgarian SPA sector attracts the interest of a leading Vietnamese tour operator, the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa Tourism (BUBSPA) said on Tuesday. Deputy Chairman of BUBSPA Zhivko Ivanov, who is part of a business delegation within the official visit of President Rumen Radev to Vietnam, held a meeting with representatives of one of the largest tour operators.

The Vietnamese tour operator, with a network of offices across the country and extensive experience on the international market, has shown serious interest in developing a tour package for Bulgaria and Romania. The company, which annually serves more than 70,000 tourists to Vietnam and is active in Eastern European markets including Czechia, Poland, Hungary and Croatia, sees an opportunity to expand its activities in Bulgaria using the European network of the BUBSPA.

Specific steps to implement this partnership were discussed during the meeting, including the possibility of launching two charter flights per week between Vietnam and Bulgaria.

To ensure the successful launch of this partnership, BUBSPA will coordinate with the Association of Bulgarian Tour Operators and Travel Agents. Further meetings and discussions are expected to be held in the near future to clarify the details of the cooperation.

On Monday, Zhivko Ivanov signed a memorandum of cooperation in tourism with the Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA).
