The state theatre of Vratsa, Northwestern Bulgaria is presenting Zdravka Kamenova’s play Gimnastika za bremenni (Pregnancy Workouts) in North Macedonia. The show is being staged at Jordan HK Dzinot Theatre in Veles on November 26 and the Drama Theatre in Skopje on November 28.
The play is about four women who meet during a pregnancy class. They have very different characters, but they all have the same name, Maria. An actress, a philosopher, a housewife and a teenager who has her head up in the clouds – none of them is sure whether they are prepared for what awaits them and how they really feel about the men in their lives. But all they need to do is... just keep breathing, because the answer is in the exercises.
Gimnastika za bremenni is directed by Petrinel Gochev. The set design and costumes are by Nadya Vasileva. The cast comprises Iva Kirova, Ina Georgieva, Rositsa Ognyanova, Tsvetana Gorkieva, Gergana Zmiicharova, Teodor Sofroniev, Borislav Sarafanov, Kalin Kostadinov and Delcho Cholakov.
The North Macedonia tour is supported financially by the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture. It is aimed to strengthen the longstanding cultural relations between the two neighbouring countries.
In September, the Vratsa theatre presented Das Brautkleid (The Wedding Dress) by Austrian playwright Stefan Vögel during the Days of Comedy in Kumanovo.
