In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) co-leader Kiril Petkov said he was saddened while watching how GERB, when having to choose between Bulgaria and MRF - New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski, chose the latter. "You justified his bludgeons as well: oh, how [acting Prosecutor General Borislav] Sarafov, Peevski's bludgeon, should remain on his post," the post reads.
"Dependence in politics has turned out to be the biggest vice," Petkov writes, and quotes a definition of the word "independence": "actions being limited by an external will, power, influence; lack of independence."
"It is a privilege to stand side by side with free people. We continue to work towards the dream of a State governed by the rule of law," Petkov writes.
Earlier on Tuesday, GERB leader Boyko Borissov told a news briefing that he withdraws his proposal to become prime minister-designate. He said he would return the cabinet-forming mandate upon receiving it from the President.
