A direct train will be running between Ruse and Plovdiv starting from July 16, said the Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) on Tuesday.

For this purpose the route of the fast trains 4631 and 4632 connecting Gorna Oryahovitsa to Plovdiv will be extended to run from and to Ruse-Razpredelitelna station. "With this change, a convenient direct transport is provided between Northern and Southern Bulgaria and more specifically between the regional centres of Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo and Plovdiv", said BDZ, adding that the resort towns of Tryavna, Pavel Banya, Karlovo, Banya and Kazanlak will also be connected in the process.

Due to the repair works at Plovdiv Central Station, the trains will temporarily depart from and arrive at Filipovo station. The fast train 4631 from Ruse-Razpredelitelna station to Plovdiv will depart daily at 04:40 am and arrive at Filipovo station at 11:40 a.m. The fast train 4632 will depart from Filipovo station at 4:10 p.m. and will arrive at Ruse-Razpredelitelna station at 11:19 p.m.
