Diplomats from the Bulgarian Embassy in North Macedonia, officials of the Bulgarian Culture and Information Centre and members of the local Bulgarian community paid a floral tribute at the grave of Bulgarian army colonel and warfare theoretician Boris Drangov (1872–1917) on Sunday.
Drangov took part in the Balkan Wars (1912-1913) and World War I (1914-1918). In 1903, he left the army to join the Ilinden-Preobrazhenie Uprising. He died in today's North Macedonia.
The ceremony was held on the Day of Botev, when Bulgaria remembers those who fell for its freedom and independence.
Bulgarian Ambassador to North Macedonia Angel Angelov said at the ceremony that heroes are not forgotten.
Earlier on Sunday, Bulgarian officials and members of the Bulgarian community laid flowers at the bas-relief of revolutionary and poet Hristo Botev at the Bulgarian Embassy in Skopje.
