site.btaTop High School Graduates Awarded in Taraclia

Taraclia Education Department in cooperation with Taraclia District Council awarded high school graduates with the best results in the national examination session. The award ceremony took place in Taraclia's Vasil Levski youth centre on Wednesday. 

Based on the results achieved in the national examination session (Bacalaureat or BAC), four graduates were awarded gold medals, 27 were awarded silver, and six were awarded bronze. Taraclia Region Chairperson Lazar Dermenji and the Head of Taraclia Education Department, Lilia Sarsaman, handed diplomas and cash prizes to all the graduates present at the event.

Lazar Dermenji expressed his pride in the achievements of the students who have made Taraclia Region famous across the country. The Chairperson of the Region expressed hope that wherever young people choose to study, in Bulgaria, Russia, Italy or Moldova, they will return and help develop their native region to make it more attractive for life. Dermenji also reminded about the Gregory Tsamblak State University of Taraclia, where graduates can study pedagogy, and noted that there is a big shortage of teachers in schools in the region.

"The results of the examination are quite successful this year and I thank all of you for the opportunity to show these results to the whole region and the country. Four lyceums out of six in our region have a BAC score of 100%. These are Bulgarian lyceums of Olimpii Panov and Ivan Vazov in Taraclia, Hristo Botev in the village of Valea Pejei and Paisii Hilendarski in the village of Korten”, said Lilia Sarsaman.

According to Taraclia Education Department data, 94 graduates out of 174 will continue to study in higher education institutions abroad, 83 graduates have chosen Bulgaria, nine are heading to Russia and two are willing to study in Italy. The rest will continue their higher education in Moldova, and some of them have decided to work before moving on to studies.
