Customs officers found 1,400 packs of cigarettes in the spare tires of a truck at the Danube Bridge checkpoint near Ruse, said the customs officials on Thursday. The Turkish-registered truck was traveling from Turkiye to the UK and was carrying confectionary.

An X-ray check found an area of ​​suspicious density in the spare tires and customs officers found in them packs with more than 29,400 cigarettes with a Bulgarian excise label in them.

The cigarettes were confiscated, and a statement of violation was drawn up.
