MRF floor leader Delyan Peevski said that Parliament is practically not working, "everybody is fighting here and it is time to go to elections". He confirmed for the press that Parliament's presiding body discussed Thursday morning going in recess from August 9 or 16. "We will make a decision tomorrow," he said.
Peevski also said, "I hope Mr Cash fulfills his constitutional obligation and present the third mandate [for forming a government to a parliamentary party of his choice]. Whichever party gets it, should not keep it. I hear that the two parties which presume to have chances to be offered the mandate, are scheming. What they should do is return the mandate. There is no majority in Parliament. We have to go to elections."
"Mr Cash" must be a reference to President Rumen Radev because he is the one who offers the government-forming mandates to the parliamentary parties.
He went on to attack Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB), calling them "a party of corruption and cash" and also saying that they were "well trained by their father, Mr Cash". He said that he would submit to the authorities an alert against CC-DB. He made it clear that it would be based on a recording of an online meeting of CC-DB that was made by former party member Radostin Vassilev in May 2023. "You know what would have happened in any normal European country," said Peevski. He concluded by saying "I would go to the end!"
