Armenia's National Assembly President Alen Simonyan will pay an official visit to Bulgaria on February 15-16, 2024, at the invitation of his Bulgarian counterpart, Rosen Zhelyazkov, the press service of Bulgaria's Parliament said on Wednesday.

The official visit will begin with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier at 9:30 am. The chairs of the parliaments of Bulgaria and Armenia will then hold a tete-a-tete meeting in the National Assembly’s historic building.

Simonyan and Zhelyazkov will open plenary talks between the MPs from the two countries at 10 am in Parliament.

On February 16, 2024, Simonyan will confer with the Chair of the Friendship Group Bulgaria – Armenia, Atanas Zafirov and MPs.

During his visit, Simonyan will meet with Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov and President Rumen Radev. He is also scheduled to visit the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Boyana Church, the National History Museum, the St. Sophia Church, and the Sts. Cyril and Methodius National Library.
