Bulgaria, Serbia
to Accelerate Work on
Gas Interconnector

Sofia/Belgrade, December 17 (BTA) - Bulgaria and Serbia will
accelerate the work on the gas interconnector between the two
countries. An agreement to this end was reached by Bulgarian
Economy Minister Bozhidar Loukarski and Serbia's Minister of
Energy and Mining Aleksandar Antic, the Cabinet's press service
said on Wednesday.

"An expert group of the two ministries will specify the
parameters of the project already by the end of December this
year," Minister Antic noted.

The memorandum on the building of the interconnector was signed
in 2012 but its parameters should be updated given that all
elements of the Bulgaria-Greece interconnector have been
specified.

Minister Loukarski stressed that it is important for Bulgaria to
have progress on the project, which will be financed under
Operational Programme Innovations and Competitiveness on
Bulgarian territory.

A Bulgarian Trade and Economic Representation and a Cultural
Centre were unveiled by a solemn ceremony in Belgrade on
Tuesday, the Tanjug news agency reported. Attending the ceremony
were Minister Loukarski, Deputy Prime Minister Roumyana
Buchvarova and Serbian Minister of Trade, Telecommunications and
 Tourism Rasim Ljajic. /PK/TK/
